How to Get to Laguna Dudu
Driving from Puerto Plata
From Puerto Plata, follow the coastal road east through Sosua and Cabarete, then continue on Highway 5 toward Rio San Juan and Cabrera. The lagoon is signposted just before the town of Cabrera. The drive takes about 90 minutes in normal traffic and the road is paved the whole way. Parking is available on site for a small fee.
Guided day trips
If you prefer not to drive, a guided day trip is the simplest choice. Most tours from Puerto Plata, Cabarete, Amber Cove or Taino Bay include round-trip transport, a local guide and often a stop at Playa Grande. This is the easiest way to reach the lagoon if you are staying at a resort or arriving by cruise.
